Teresa Mullins graduated from the University of Ulster as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2014. She enjoys working with children and she volunteers in the youth club for children with disability in Spraoi agus Spórt during her free time. Teresa believes that the children, the leaders and volunteers are lovely and it is a pleasure to be a part of this group.
Emer is a Leaving Cert student in the Carndonagh Community School. She is involved in the local Foróige Club and hopes to study Law in UCD. She loves volunteering at the Youth Club for Children with a disability because it is very rewarding. She enjoys having fun with the children and believes that Spraoi agus Spórt is a fantastic facility and a wonderful place to volunteer. It is a great facility that helps a lot of people in the community and she is only very happy to play her part. Everyone in Spraoi agus Sport is so lovely and friendly as well as the children and everyone is extremely hard working which makes volunteering straight forward and easy. There is really nice easy going atmosphere. Emer would recommend volunteering here to anyone who has an interest in helping out in their community as it is fun, rewarding and insightful.
Nicola Cox is a Leaving Cert student in the Carndonagh Community School, she always looks forward to her days volunteering at the Youth Club for Children with a Disability at Spraoi agus Spórt as she knows they will be filled with fun and laughter. She loves getting to know all of the children and seeing them happy. She finds helping each of the children in whatever the days tasks may be very rewarding in its own way. She would highly recommend to everyone that they should volunteer if they ever get the privilege.
Áine Doherty is a volunteer in Spraoi agus Spórt mainly in the Youth Club for Children with a Disability. She really enjoys working there as the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and the children are fantastic to work with. You always get a laugh and it is always a lovely, fun environment to be a part off. Áine also helps out at Scouts and Foróige, which are youth clubs for teenagers. She also recently started work in Bocan Creche. She loves being around children from a young age as her Mum did home respect for children with additional needs, when she was young and this is where she got her passion for working with children. Áine completed various work placements in schools and in crèches as part of her Leaving Certificate, she has completed a Level 5 BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care Learning and Development. She also has a Level 5 Distinction in Occupational First Aid.
Amy Morrison is a Leaving Cert student in the Carndonagh Community School. She loves volunteering at the Youth Club for Children with a Disability in Spraoi agus Sport because she feels it is a very rewarding
thing to do and she has learned so much while doing it. She enjoys interacting with all of the kids who are all very different and special in their own way. Its also very nice seeing the kids getting excited about the days activities and learning new things! She says her days at Spraoi agus Spórt are always undoubtedly full of fun. Her favourite thing about volunteering here is being able to build relationships with each child and also the messy play! It's great seeing all the kids happy and active and she always goes home happy from her days spent there. She says it's a wonderful experience.
